CONFIANCE ANCHOR

Found by local divers in 1996, the British flagship's anchor was raised from Lake Champlain and preserved.

Commodore Macdonough and his crew aboard the Saratoga opened fire a 24-pound cannon ball that struck the

British ship Confiance and its anchor was lost to the bottom of Lake Champlain for 182 years.
