POST CEMETERY

                                                       Post Cemetery contains a monument to Unknown Dead of the War of 1812.  This is most appropriate because

                                                      there are 136 Unknown soldiers buried here.  The remains of many of these soldiers were discovered

                                                      while excavating on and around Plattsburgh barracks, Fort Moreau and Fort Scott.  Also buried here

                                                      are 163 known soldiers, 105 children and wives of soldiers, a total of 445.  Burials are no longer permitted here.
