PETER SAILLY HOME

 

 

                     The original Sailly home was built in the style of a Swiss chalet.

                     Sailly came from Lorraine, France.  He served as Congressman and

                     Collector of Customs for the New York side of Lake Champlain.

                     He was also responsible for overseeing the issuing of supplies to

                     the United States Navy on Lake Champlain and assisted in

                     gathering of intelligence data.  The Sailly house was built around

                     1795.
