Home of Major General Benjamin Mooers.

During the battle this was the headquarters for General

Alexander Macomb.

Headquarters of British General Brisbane.

First settlement in Plattsburgh.

 

24  BRITISH CAMPSITE

 

British soldiers set up a campsite on this site.

ISRAEL GREEN TAVERN

 

Site of one of Plattsburgh's earliest buildings.

In 1817 President Monroe was a guest here.

 

 

25  HALSEY'S CORNERS

 

Captain Leonard's light artillery resisted the heroic advance of the British.

Site of teenage soldiers stopping the British.

Commander of the 8th regular N.Y. Militia.

Home occupied by British during the battle.

27  ISAAC PLATT HOME

Headquarters of Major General Robinson.  The British wounded at Halsey's Corners were brought here.

Occupied by British General Prevost during the battle.

Contains the graves of American and British officers  killed in the Battle of Plattsburgh.

MUSEUM

Inside are dioramas of naval battles of Valcour, on Lake Champlain, (1776) and Plattsburgh (1814), complement paintings, maps, furniture and decorative art objects in the collection.
